General information only, not financial advice. The X-ray describes the quote you entered. It doesn't assess whether a loan suits you: that depends on your circumstances, and it's the lender's job to check. Lenders that charge interest daily, or set weekly repayments from monthly ones, land within about 0.1 points of the rate shown. A payout figure when selling early also includes any early termination fees, which aren't counted here. The value estimate doesn't know the make, model or kilometres. Full disclaimer →

Common questions

How does the Quote X-ray find the interest rate?

It finds the rate at which your repayments and any balloon exactly pay off the amount financed: the price, less your deposit and trade-in, plus any fees and add-ons added to the loan. It's the same calculation as a spreadsheet's RATE function.

Why is the rate including fees higher than the interest rate?

Fees added to the loan cost you money but aren't interest. The rate including fees counts them, by comparing everything you repay with what the car cost you after the deposit. The bigger the fees against the loan, the bigger the gap.

Is the rate including fees the same as the comparison rate?

No. A comparison rate also counts most fees, but lenders work it out on a standard loan of $30,000 over 5 years, so it won't match your loan unless yours is that size and length. The rate including fees uses your loan's own numbers.

Does Veercal see the numbers I type?

No. The X-ray runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to Veercal or anyone else, saved, or added to the page address.
