About Veercal

Built for the buyer.
Not the broker.

Veercal is a free, independent car finance calculator. Here's why we built it, what we're trying to achieve, and how we keep the lights on without compromising the numbers.

Our mission
"Give Australian car buyers the same information that finance professionals have always had — clearly, honestly, and for free."

Why we built this

Car finance in Australia is genuinely complicated. Dealer finance, personal loans, novated leases, balloon payments, stamp duty, LCT — each involves real maths that affects how much you actually pay, and most of the tools available are either built by providers with a product to sell or simplified to the point of being misleading.

The result is that most Australians walk into a dealership or sign a novated lease agreement without a clear understanding of what they're committing to. The monthly payment looks affordable. The total cost doesn't.

Veercal exists to close that gap. The calculators model the full picture — all finance costs, running costs, stamp duty, LCT, opportunity cost, tax saving, FBT, residual values, and exit value — so you can make an informed decision, not just a convenient one.

The maths is the product
Every formula is based on ATO rulings, state revenue office verified rates, and standard finance mathematics. We publish our methodology in the calculators themselves — nothing is hidden.
Structurally independent
Veercal is not owned by a bank, dealer group, or finance provider. No provider can pay to improve how they appear in our comparisons. The numbers are the numbers.
Free to use, always
Every calculator on Veercal is free and requires no registration. We don't sell your data, run advertising, or put results behind a paywall.
Education first
The guides and calculators are designed to help you understand your options — not to push you toward any particular outcome. The right choice depends on your situation.

How Veercal makes money

Veercal is currently free and in an early stage of development. We don't yet generate revenue. Here's our intended model — and our firm commitments about what we will never do.

Planned
Referral fees from finance providers
When a user's numbers indicate that a particular finance product — a novated lease, a car loan, or a refinancing arrangement — is genuinely in their interest, we may connect them with a licensed provider and earn a referral fee if they proceed. The referral is shown as a clear suggestion with full disclosure, only appears when it's contextually appropriate based on the calculator's output, and never influences the calculations themselves. A referral fee does not mean we recommend a provider over another — it means they have agreed to pay us for introductions.
Planned
White-label licensing
Employers, accountants, and financial advisers may license the Veercal calculator engine for use with their clients. The underlying calculations are identical — no provider-specific weighting or adjustments are applied. Licensed versions carry clear Veercal branding.
Never
Paid placement or boosted results
No provider can pay to appear more favourably in a calculator comparison, receive a higher recommendation, or have their product shown preferentially. Calculations are always based solely on the mathematics of each finance structure with the inputs you provide.
Never
Advertising
Veercal will not run display advertising, sponsored content, or any ad format that could compromise the clarity of the tool or the independence of the information. The calculator interface is a space to think, not a space to be sold to.
Never
Selling your data
We don't sell personal information to third parties. The data you enter into the calculators stays in your browser session and is not transmitted to or stored by Veercal. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Our commitments to you
The calculators are always free. No registration, no paywall, no "premium" tier that unlocks the real numbers.
Referral CTAs are always disclosed. When we suggest a provider, we say so explicitly and disclose that we may earn a fee. You can always ignore the suggestion and use the numbers however you like.
Referrals are contextual, not constant. We only show a referral suggestion when the calculator's output genuinely indicates it may be in your interest — not on every page load.
The maths doesn't change based on commercial relationships. A provider paying us a referral fee does not affect how their product compares in the calculator. Same inputs, same outputs, always.
This page will be updated. As our business model evolves, we'll keep this page current. If we add a new revenue stream, it'll appear here first.

What Veercal is not

Veercal is not a licensed financial adviser and does not provide personal financial advice. The calculators are educational tools that model general scenarios based on the information you enter. Before making a significant financial decision — particularly around salary packaging, novated leases, or refinancing — you should speak with a licensed financial adviser who can consider your full circumstances.

The results are estimates. Real loan terms, stamp duty assessments, FBT obligations, and vehicle valuations may differ from the calculator's outputs. See our full disclaimer →
